Ruth- Caring For Others Like God Does

Ruth- Caring For Others Like God Does

Caring Like God Does

The story of Ruth is a great example of caring for others. Ruth shows her love for Naomi by caring for her. Boaz shows his love for Ruth by committing to care for both her and Naomi. Because they loved God, they wanted to take care of each other. Just like the people we meet in the story of Ruth, we can also show God’s love by taking care of other people.

Memory Verse: “The Lord takes good care of all those who fall. He lifts up all those who feel helpless.” Psalm 145:14 (NIrV)

August 7th- Ruth and Naomi

Scripture: Ruth 1, Ruth and Naomi

When Naomi’s husband and sons were gone, she felt all alone. But Ruth stayed by Naomi’s side, and took care of her, showing God’s love. We show God’s love too when we show kindness to our families.

Objective: Little ones will learn, “I’m obeying God when I show love to my family.”

August 14th- Ruth Meets Boaz

Scripture: Ruth 2, Ruth Meets Boaz

Ruth and Naomi were very poor and had no food to eat. Boaz showed kindness to poor people and let them gather grain in his field. When Boaz meets Ruth, he showed her great kindness and love. We can show God’s love when we are kind to those who have less than we do.

Objective: Little ones will learn, “I’m showing God’s love when I share with others.”

August 21st- The Threshing Floor

Scripture: Ruth 3, Ruth and Boaz on the Threshing Floor

Boaz loved Ruth and Ruth loved Boaz. Boaz promised to take care of Ruth always. God takes care of us always. We can show God’s love when we take care of others.

Objective: Little ones will learn, “I’m showing God’s love when I help others.”

August 28th- Boaz Marries Ruth

Scripture: Ruth 4, Boaz Marries Ruth

Ruth and Naomi went through some hard times, but God was always taking care of them. When Boaz married Ruth it was a happy time, and God was still with her. Through good times and bad times, God is always watching over us and taking care of us.

Objective: Little ones will learn, “God wants us to trust Him to be our Savior forever.”
